During his School days, he was the Charter Secretary of Interact club of Carmel Higher Secondary School in (1990-91). He was the Charter President of Rotaract Club of Sri Ramachandra Medical College in (1994-95). He conducted many rural medical and dental camps during that time in and around Porur.
In Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry Association of Surgeons of India, he was the Honorary Secretary of the Chapter from 2010. He is the youngest Secretary of TN & PASI ever in the history. He contributed immensely to the growth of the Chapter. He was the Chairman of TamilNadu chapter of Association of Surgeons of India in 2019-2020.
Dr. J.W. Ebenesh Bensam was the National Honorary Secretary of Association of Surgeons of India from 2016-2018. He is the youngest person ever to occupy this coveted post. He was a Governing Council member of ASI from 2013-2018. Dr. J.W. Ebenesh Bensam is an active Freemason and a Rotarian and has conducted many free medical camps in and around Nagercoil and participated in many Charity Projects. He received the Masonry Best Master of the Region Award in the Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India for the year 2017.
Dr. J. W. Ebenesh Bensam joined Rotary in 2012 at Rotary Club of Nagercoil Central. He was actively involved in the activities of International Fellowship of Rotarian Doctors. He is the Charter member of Rotary Club of Nagercoil Supreme. He is a Major Donor Level II with a contribution of 42,000 USD to the Rotary foundation. He is a Benefactor and Paul Harris Society Member. He is also an End Polio Fellow and a member of Paul Harris 711 club which preserves the birth place of Rotary International. He was the President of Rotary Club of Nagercoil Supreme (2020-2022). He was the Chairman, District Project and District Project Seminar- Thulir (2021-2022), He was the Assistant Governor (2022-2023) and Chairman, District Conference (2022- 2023).
As the Chairman of Idhayam 3212 Conference, he Organized a world class District Conference at Coimbatore. He was the Chairman of District Awards for the year 2023-24. He was the Chairman of Lead, PETS and SETS for the year 2024-25.
Rtn. Dr. J.W. Ebenesh Bensam has been elected as the District Governor of RID 3212 for the year 2027-28 with a huge mandate. During the COVID Period, he did many humanitarian Services and he was presented many Awards by the Government of TamilNadu. He treated more
than 1000 COVID Patients in his COVID Care Center with minimal mortality rate which was also well appreciated.
Dr. J.W. Ebenesh Bensam is the recipient of Dr. G.Viswanathan Surgeon Par Excellence award of Tamil Nadu chapter of Association of Surgeons of India in 2019. He received the distinguished Alumni of Sri Rama Chandra Institute of Higher Education in 2020.
Dr. J.W. Ebenesh Bensam is very much interested in exploring new places and he has so far visited more than 25 countries around the world.
Dr. J.W. Ebenesh Bensam is happily married to Rtn. Dr. Rekha John who is a Pediatrician at Bensam Multispeciality Hospital. They are blessed with two children. Elder son Dr. E. Rehan Jeshua Bensam has finished MBBS at Velammal Medical College, Madurai and younger daughter is Studying B.Sc. (Psychology) at Women’s Christian College, Chennai.
